"Very good Jyo. You are doing much better and letting the force guide you yet harnessing it to help you and not control you." Said Velius as he had just had his attack parried to the right by his young disciple. His pause would have cost him in a real fight as Jyo wasted no time to get up and over his master. holding the lightsaber between them as he sailed over Velius and landed behind him.
Velius turned and pushed his left hand out palm facing the young padawan and sent him flying back with a force push. Jyo was able to land on his feet and grinned.
"Thank you master Veluis." He said as he came back in. Veluis Narull sighed.
Still very strait forward and headstrong. He thought as he used the force to lift nearby rocks at throw them at Jyo. Jyo could sense the attacks coming in and used the force to slow down the rocks one by one then slash them with his saber.
For a while it worked. it seemed as though Jyo would be in reach of his master once more. But then one rock was hurled faster then the others and struck the padawan in the chest knocking him to the ground. The Velius made his move. he Jumped into the air and came down with his lightsaber. He was going to deactivate it before it hit his student. But he was wondering what the young man would do.
Jyo's reaction was simpler than he thought. but very effective. the young man pointed the lightsaber at Veluis' chest and then adjusted the control at the butt of the hilt extending the lightsaber. Veluis himself had not made such a modification. And Jyo now had range over him. Using the force Velius rolled to the side in mid-air and landed a good ten feet away from his student.
He turned in time to see Jyo leaping at him and readjusting the lightsaber's length. The two went into a flurry of attacks. Jyo was on offense for the moment. but simply because Velius wanted to see the progress of his pupil. He was impressed. Jyo's mastery over Form II was impressive. And though Jyo radiated an eagerness in the challenge presented to him he was still very calm. Not showing any anger to his mistakes. Only that he would learn from them.
The Velius got a surprise. Jyo attacked with one of his lunges with the lightsaber. The blade barely missed Velius' shoulder. The Jedi master decided he had not been focusing on the battle enough and shifted into attacking Jyo. The young man was parrying and using several ripostes but none of his counters gt through as he was being backed up against a tree.
Does he not realize whats going on? I'll have to talk with him about bing more alert of his surroundings. He's very good but I... Oh no though Velius as Jyo surprised him once more. Abandoning the battle for a moment he ducked and twirled slashing the trunk of the tree and then lept away. he used the force to push it down snapping what was still connected at his slash point to fall where his master would be standing. Velius had to dive to the left only to block a hurled lightsaber from his student. As the saber twirled back to Jyo it stopped and smoothly went into the hand of Velius
"A wonderful session my student. You are truly impressing me with your abilities. Come on down and lets head to get some food." He said seeing his student was high up in a tree branch breathing heavily. Jyo jumped down and walked over to Velius and retrieved his weapon and clipped it back to his belt.
"Thank you master Velius. You have taught me more than I would have ever thought I could learn."
"You are welcome Jyo. you deserve such credit. But you must still learn to quell that lust for combat. I know the challenge drives you which is why I am more lenient to it than if you liked the actual fight. But still. A Jedi must fight only wen they are completely calm. Not fear anger or eagerness. You have controlled your fear and anger. But the eagerness could still be used to turn you to the dark side." Said Veluis.
"Yes master." Jyo said. Many people would think Jyo was trying to dismiss the matter with such a short response. Over time Velius had come to realize it only meant Jyo had nothing more to add to the matter and agreed with what was said.
Later on outside the Academy building Jyo was eating alone as Veluis had to go and take care of other things. They would be leaving tomorrow. But Velius did not tell him where to. Jyo took a bite out of his nerf steak and looked up at the star-filled night sky. Not for the first time he didn't try and comprehend any of the things around him and Just enjoyed the clear sky's view.
