Name: Railek Taren
Race: Mandalorian
Profession: Mercenary
Age: 21
Weight: 212 pounds
Height: 6'2"
Build: A lifetime of battle has left Railek's body covered in scars, mostly across his torso, though their are a few on his upper arms. His muscles are well defined, yet not bulky, allowing him to move with speed while still having a fair amount of power.
Eye color: Bright blue.
Hair: Black. Reaches to his shoulders along the front and the sides, and the back reaches between his shoulder blades. Worn messy and loose, falling in front of his face and covering his eyes, though Railek often parts it in the middle when in combat.
Personality: As befitting his warrior race, Railek loves testing himself in battle against those he deems as being combat-worthy. Given his rather unique upbringing among Mandalorians, however, Railek is much less cruel than his kin, on occasion actually seen to be assisting those who are in physical danger, though this may in part be due to his constant desire to engage in battle. However, his time alone has forced him to develop a selfish attitude, more of a "me first" mentality, which keeps him from truly becoming more of a light-sided individual.
Appearance: Wears Mandalorian armour of ancient design, dating back to the times of the Old Republic. The metallic plates are a shining silver, though the remainder of its design matches that of a typical assault trooper.
Faction: Neither. For all intents and purposes, Railek simply has no opinion on the New Republic or its denizens. Instead, he merely watches out for himself.
Weapon:
Ranged: A Mandalorian blaster rifle. As consistent with Mandalorian designs, it focuses more upon power rather than accuracy, though Railek's impressive ability often makes up for this shortcoming.
Melee: Vibroblade. Plain and simple, standard issue cortosis-weave.
Armor: The Mandalorian armour has had a cortosis-weave as well, making it resistant to but not impervious to lightsaber damage.
History: Scattered throughout the galaxy, the Mandalorians have become fewer in number than ever before. While Boba Fett may have reformed the clans underneath a new Mandalore, it was inevitable that he would miss a few.
The Taren Clan was one of them.
In the remote wastelands of Gall, the Clan flourished. Isolated, independant, the Clan did very well for itself, managing to stay at roughly the same population size. As time went on, however, they slowly began to draw attention to themselves, the Mandalorian's lust for battle began to spur them into action, ravaging and pillaging small cities on the planet, teaching their children the way of warfare from an early age as was their culture. Railek was one such child. Even among Mandalorian children, Railek was particularly gifted in battle prowess. When he reached the tender age of twelve, however, disaster struck for the Taren Clan.
The populace of Gall had become outraged with the lack of assistance they had been receiving from the New Republic. Banding together, they stormed the Taren camp. While they certainly were more skilled then the attacking militia, the Mandalorians were greatly outnumbered. Railek was knocked unconscious during the battle, being struck by flying debris. Upon awakening, Railek found his Clan defeated and scattered, much like his people had been ages ago.
Taking up his father's armour, Railek left the scattered remains of his camp, working as a mercenary for minor crimelords until he was old enough and physically large enough to properly fit into his Mandalorian armament. With the credits earned from his less than noble work, Railek bought himself a ship, Vindication, and has been travelling into the core worlds. Having only a rudimentary knowledge of the Galaxy's history, and no true destination in mind, Railek now finds himself mingling amongst billions of sentients, searching for his own place in a Galaxy that didn't seem to want his kind in the first place.
Strengths: Railek is an impressive physical warrior. His strength is above average, and his speed is considerable as well. His pride forces him to fight to the very best of his abilities in nearly every battle, keeping him from holding back in most fights. Hand to hand, marksmanship, and melee fighting are all highly trained skills for Railek, and he continues to perfect his abilities in these areas. Railek is also fairly proficient in first aid, as well as repairing mechanical devices/droids/ships, considering he has lived alone for so long.
Weaknesses: For all his strengths, Railek is still only human. His strength and speed, though impressive, still fall behind Jedi qualities oftentimes, should they reach through the force to increase their physical abilities. Also, since he has not trained extensively in one area or the other, a foe who specializes in one or the other will likely outdo him in that feat. Having been untrained in mental conditioning, any mental attacks will likely succeed against him. Piloting skills are rudimentary, just enough to manage to get from point A to point B.
